Junk lawsuits and abuse of our legal system – lawsuit abuse – affects all of us.
We see evidence of lawsuit abuse in our daily lives, whether we pay more for goods
and services or our doctor fears prescribing a certain medicine because he or she
might be sued. The cost of lawsuit abuse is real. Every Texan pays a hidden “lawsuit
tax” because of frivolous lawsuits and the cost of the nation’s legal system.
Citizens
Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) is working hard to make the public better aware of
the cost and consequences of lawsuit abuse. As the leading grassroots legal watchdog
in Texas, CALA believes our courts should be used for fairness and balanced justice,
not greed.
